Recipes

Make any meal flavorful and delicious by adding Kramarczuk's sausages.  Refer to the recipes below for some creative ideas bursting with flavor!

 
 

Jambalaya

This Creole dish is full of unique flavors.

 

2 tablespoons butter

1 large onion, thinly sliced

1/2 cup coarsely chopped green pepper

1 clove garlic

2 tablespoons flour

1.5 lbs Kramarczuk's Polish Sausage, cut in 1/2-inch cubes

2 cups cooked shrimp, shelled and deveined

5 cups diced peeled tomatoes

2 tablespoons chopped parsley

2 cups raw long-grain white rice

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 1/4 teaspoons salt

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves

1/8 teaspoon cayenne

 

1.) In a large, deep skillet heat the butter.  Add the onion, green pepper, and garlic, and sauté for 5 minutes until tender.

2.) Remove the pan from the heat, and stir in the flour.  Add 2 1/2 cups of water and stir the mixture until it is smooth.

3.) Return the pan to the heat, and stir in the remaining ingredients.  Constantly stir the mixture until it reaches the boiling point.

4.) Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook covered for about 30 minutes and stir occasionally.

*Makes 8 Servings

 

Kielbasa & Red Cabbage

This classic Polish dish tastes great anytime.

 

1/4 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed

1 tablespoon grated orange peel

1 clove garlic, crushed

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

2-lb head cabbage, shredded

3 medium onions, sliced

2 medium cooking apples, pared, cored, and sliced

1 large red pepper, cut in thin strips

1/2 cup orange juice

1/4 cup wine vinegar

1 ring (2 lb) kielbasa

 

1.) Preheat oven to 350F.  In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, orange peel, garlic, salt, nutmeg, pepper, and cloves.

2.) In a Dutch oven, arrange in layers, half of the cabbage, half of the onions, and half of the apples.  Next, sprinkle the arrangement with the brown sugar mixture, and cover that with the red pepper strips.  REPEAT

3.) Pour the orange juice and the vinegar over the top of the the arrangement.

4.) Cover the Dutch oven, and bake for 1 hour.

5.) Remove cabbage arrangement from oven.  Place the kielbasa over the cabbage arrangement and return it to the oven to cook (covered)  for another 30 minutes.

*Makes 6 Servings

 

Kramarczuk's Fried Eggs

Kramarczuk's sausages are great in this morning tradition.

 

1 1/2 teaspoons margarine or butter

4 whole eggs

1/4 cup milk

1/2 cup Kramarczuk's Polish Sausage, cut into 1/4-inch cubes

 

1/4 cup shredded Swiss cheese

2 tablespoons chopped onions

1/8 cup chopped mushrooms

 

1.) Heat the margarine or butter in a skillet over medium heat.

2.) Beat the eggs with the milk, then add the remaining ingredients.

3.) Pour the egg mixture into the skillet.  As the mixture begisn to set, use a spatula to lift cooked portions from the bottom.  This will allow the uncooked portions to cook.  Cook until eggs are thoroughly cooked but also moist.

*Makes 2 Servings
